Here's what I did...
swam 600 meters
biked 11 miles
and ran a 5 K...
in 1 hour 45 minutes and 12 seconds!
It was a Sprint Triathlon so the format was like this:
Swim 300 meters
Bike 5.5 miles
Run 1.5 miles
REPEAT!!!
Not the fastest competitor, but I did make all of my goals.
0. Make it through the training! Very Important!
1. Complete the course.
2. No walking or taking a break. (I even jogged in the transitions baby!)
3. Finish with in an hour and 45 minutes. (Ok I was technically 12 seconds over, but I had to take a quick potty break before the second swim.)
4. Prove to myself and my kids that I can do something hard and finish what I start.
I was most amazed at how well I gauged my goals with my ability. I am very pleased with my accomplishment! This has been a great experience.
I want to thank my amazing husband who encouraged me from the moment I told him about the race until the very end. He was an awesome support and encouraged me everyday. He was in Colorado for work and flew home for 48 hours just to be there.
Here I am swimming! Look out Michael Phelps.
I love this picture because you can see my kids in the back ground. They all gave me high fives as I ran by. Then Garrett ran with me for a few seconds. I turned back and he held hands with me for a few seconds as we ran together. He was so proud of me. That moment with my kids made the entire thing worth every early morning, and sore muscle.
Thanks for all the support!
amazing!!!! great job!!!
