Today at lunch Carson said the prayer. He blessed the food and followed that request up with, "and can you please bless us to find a wii?" Tomorrow we are going to the grand opening of the new Sam's Club by our house. I am going to get there an hour before the ribbon cutting ceremony. I hopes to be the first one in the door to get a wii (I hope all of the other shoppers are only there for huge cans of beans and massive amounts of dish soap). I'm not positive that they will even have any because every other store on the planet is STILL out! I know this sounds very desperate and crazy, but I am a little at this point!
It all started back in early November when I talked to the inlaws about Christmas gifts. Mom Braswell was hoping to get a wii for the family but everywhere in Ohio was SOLD OUT! Go figure. So I took it as a personal challenge to find the family a wii! Trevor compiled a typed 10 page list of retailers around Las Vegas who sold the wii. The daily calls began. I finally got on a waiting list and one day Game Crazy called to inform me they had the coveted wii. Well, I was not home and missed missed my chance. Latter that day I called back and talked to someone at the store and asked them to PLEASE put my name on the waiting list, again. He totally recognized my voice and said some thing like, "Hey, you call everyday don't you? I'll call your cell phone next time." About two weeks before Christmas I got the call on my cell. I had been number ten on the list but this kid bumped me up to number one! It was really amazing that I was one of the few people to get a wii. I was on a high for like a week. Mom and Dad Braswell were as stoked as me and we were able to surprise the family on Christmas Day. It was one of the best moments of my life, really! It is an awesome feeling to give the perfect (and impossible) gift.
So why are we still looking for a wii? The first one we got was for the Braswell Sr. Family. We decided later that we wanted one too. Isn't that how impossible items go? The harder they are to get the more you have to have them! I'm still trying for our wii and I hope to get one tomorrow. After sharing my story I do feel a little obsessed and ridiculous but that will only last until tomorrow at 9:45 am when I get our wii! I hope... cross my fingers!
Robyn -- I don't even care about video games, but it was an amazing moment to see our family go crazy over the Wii. All your hard work was much appreciated, even by me who has yet to play it. The moment they opened it will be one I will cherish and never forget.
